Disaster, Armed Forces & International Services The American Red Cross of Central South Carolina, part of the national American Red Cross network, provides the following humanitarian services to the community. All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free and made possible by people like you who voluntarily donate their time and money. Disaster Services (Call 803-540-1215 for help or click here for more information). - Immediate help for those with disaster-caused needs such as food, clothing, shelter, prescription medications and emotional support.
- Emergency communications between family members who have lost contact due to a disaster.
- Referrals to other community agencies that can help with emergency needs.
- Educational speakers, programs, materials and tips that can help you prepare for and minimize the harmful effects of disaster.
- Training for those who wish to become a Red Cross disaster volunteer at the local, national and/or international level.
- Trustworthy use of the dollars you give to help others through The American Red Cross of Central South Carolina Chapter.
Armed Forces Emergency Services (AFES) (Call 803-540-1215 for help or click here for more information)
- Worldwide communications services that keep military personnel and their families in touch following a death or serious illness, the birth of a child, or other family emergencies.
- Social services such as help in general guidance coordinating hardship leave, access to financial assistance or counseling.
International Services (Call 803-540-1215 for help or click here for more information) - Tracing and messaging services for families separated by disaster, armed conflict, civil unrest or changing world conditions
- Training in humanitarian principles, international humanitarian law and the specific provisions of the Geneva Conventions - the framework of rights that protects people caught in international conflict.
